This new technology was recently adopted by GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association” which is the Trade Body that represents the interests of mobile network operators worldwide

Through this new technology, the SIM card got embedded within the device where the user won’t need to remove it but will be able to easily move from one operator to another. In the near future, eSIM will be used in wearable, Smart Homes as well as in cars.

eSIM has many Features

  • eSIM will include the profiles of all Telecommunication Providers, but only profile can be used at a given time where customers no longer need to manage physical SIM cards since
  • eSIM provides a smooth and simple experience and minimizes the time required to connect to the network , more simplified processing and more reliable service since it is embedded within the device
  • Customers can have multiple profile on the same device "up to 10 at the same time" without having to carry physical SIM cards, However, you may not activate more than one number.
