Orange Jordan recently
sponsored the Second International Love and Peace Marathon, which was organized
by the Love and Peace Association and held in Zarqa under the patronage of
Zarqa Governor Dr. Raed Al Adwan.
Orange Jordan’s
sponsorship of the marathon comes as a part of its interest in supporting various
sectors and groups of society, focusing on activities for youth with special
needs who participated in the marathon. Orange Jordan’s commitment to integrate
those with special needs into society reflects a goal of its long-term corporate social responsibility plan, which aims to enhance
social and economic growth across all portions of the Kingdom, falling in line
with its Essentials 2020 strategy, setting social service as a main area of
focus.
The marathon had a number of local and international participants and
began at Al Zarqa Hospital located in “Madinat Al Sharq” area, and
ended at the Prince Mohammed Youth City Club. It featured a 10-kilometer race
for adults and 4-kilometer race for children, which were divided respectively
into five and two age groups.
Ending with a great success, first place winners were awarded USD
300, second place USD 200, and third place USD 100, in addition to medals,
which were given to all those who placed. Also, all special needs participants were
given prizes, and special needs winners of first, second, and third place were
also honored with the same cash awards and medals.
Through its five-year strategy Essentials 2020
and its corporate social responsibility plan, Orange Jordan seeks to identify
and promote individual and institutional skills of all portions of society in
order to contribute to social and economic
growth, and create a brighter for Jordan.
