  Orange Jordan opens registration for the second local edition of the Social Venture Prize

 

Orange Jordan is launching a call for applications from aspirants to register for the second local and the eighth global edition of the Orange Social Venture Prize. Applications may be made from March 1 until May 31, 2018. The Orange Social Venture Prize showcases regional entrepreneurs offering innovative products and services meeting the health, agricultural, educational, energy, commercial or industrial needs of local communities.


Six startups will be shortlisted from the pool of applicants, to participate in the final competition and present their innovative projects in front of a committee consisting of juries who are experts in the field of entrepreneurship. In the final round, three companies will be chosen and awarded prizes worth JD 3,000, JD 2,000 and JD 1,000 respectively, in addition to getting qualified to participate in the international edition of Orange Social Venture Prize which will be held in November 2018, for a chance to win prizes worth EUR 25,000, 15,000 or 10,000.

The company is committed to supporting startups and empowering them, as it deeply believes that their creative ideas will serve the community.


Since its launch, seven years ago, the Social Venture Prize has witnessed great success. This can be attributed to the entrepreneurial dynamics and telecommunications potential of this region and Orange enabling innovation ventures that improve the living conditions of local communities through information and communication technologies.


Orange Social Venture Prize is aligned with Orange Jordan’s corporate strategy, Essentials 2020, which aims to capitalize on the talents of local community members and invest in them, particularly entrepreneurs whom Orange Jordan is committed to supporting through offering training programs, financial support and expertise to help transform their ideas into reality and contribute to the development of the local community.
