What is the

CSR Strategy

Jordan’s wealth lies in its human resources; of whom youth- under 34 years- represent 70.6%, women represent 48.6% and people with disabilities represent 11.3%. (Source: 2015 national census) Despite the fact that illiteracy rates are very low and pursuing higher education is in the core of the Jordanian culture, unemployment rate has hit the line of 19% by the end of 2019 and poverty rate has reached 15.7% in 2018. (Source: Department of Statistics)

Jordan has high levels of entrepreneurial activity, where Technology based startups (TBSs) overall contribution to nominal GDP reached 0.4%, or JD 104 million and created 36% of total employment opportunities in the ICT sector in 2016, with estimated contribution to the Jordanian economy of JD 119 million.

Orange Jordan designed a sustainable CSR strategy that focuses on empowering youth, women and people with disabilities in three main areas: Digital Inclusion, Digital Education and Entrepreneurship.
